  • SLUMBER, BOOK I

    SLUMBER is a Black science fiction novel that takes place in post-apocalyptic America. It is a dystopian tale in which a mutated virus devastates America. Millions fall into a deep, seemingly irreversible sleep. As a result, the country is in chaos. The remaining population must now decide how and if it can survive in the face of many obstacles and many enemies.

Ted Cummings

Ted Cummings is a lawyer and author of science fiction who writes stories that center upon the Black experience in America and the diaspora.  Ted has vast experience working in Corporate America where he worked at Exxon/Mobil, Procter & Gamble and GE Aircraft Engines. Ted is a graduate of Howard University where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering and the Chase College of Law.  At Howard, Ted gained his love for writing while working as the editorial editor for The Hilltop, Howard’s student run newspaper. He is a proud father of three, Christian, Solomon and Zoe, and husband to Traci, with whom he has been married for over twenty-five years.


Ted’s enduring hope is that his writings inspire and initiate thoughtful conversations on how we can create a better, more inclusive world.
